Halloween Festivities

On October 26th, we went to a Halloween Party that a girl from work hosted. Her name is Micah and is the sweetest girl ever! Dallin and I dressed up as Minions from Despicable Me. It was a fun costume to make! I cut off the ends of foam cups for the goggles and sewed them to a headband and printed of the G and sewed them onto the shirt.

October 28th
Jack and Susan came over for Family night and we had pumpkin bars and carved pumpkins. I forgot how much I do not like scooping the guts out! It grosses me out so bad! It was very fun though!

Wednesday October 30th
Today, I was given a great opportunity. I have been looking around different departments at Vivint, to find a way to move up for quite some time. Well, last night, one of the Program Managers informed me that Dave Allred and Cheyenne Thatcher were looking to interview people for a new regional assistant. I applied immediately. Early this morning, I got a text saying I had an interview at 8:30. My interview felt like it went great! They called me back into their office that afternoon to ask me some more questions. They also had me talk with the regional assistant I was replacing to ask him any questions. I talked to my boss and he was very supportive of me taking the position if it was offered to me. Now I just had to wait to see if I got it!

Halloween!!!
Today was officially the most stressful and most eventful Halloween I have ever had. Dave and Cheyenne told me that they would tell me this morning whether I got the job or not. I sat by the door in my 8:30 class just in case they called. I sat tapping my feet through my 10 o'clock class. By the time I got to institute, I was on edge! I figured they would have called me by now if I got the job. Well, I can tell you, I was nervous beyond belief, because all of a sudden my phone started ringing. My heart dropped into my stomach and I could feel it pounding. When I looked at my phone to see who was calling, it was Dallin! Man, was I stressed. I got to work, and everybody dressed up for Halloween. About 30 minutes after I got there, Dave and Cheyenne called me into their office. After what seemed like forever, they finally told me that they would like to have me on their team and that I got the job!! I could not believe it! I was in shock!! The Lord had his hand in this whole thing. I knew he was there with me from the very beginning!

That night, we went to our ward trunk-or-treat. We only had 10 minutes to decorate our car, so we threw something together super quick! Dallin and I were laughing, because we were like uhhh... what do new married couples do on Halloween? All we did before was go to dance parties and before that trick-or-treat. So, we decided to hang out with some of our best friends, Jack, Susan, Finch, and Katelyn. We ate some treats and watched Hunger Games. Dallin and I didn't get to bed until 1:30. That is for sure a new record for us!

Fall Break Fun

Friday October 4th 2013
Mom and Dad and the boys came in town today for fall break. They were going to get here late on Friday, but Vivint decided to bring in Imagine Dragons to the Jazz stadium for our corporate party. Each employee got 2 tickets, but they had extra, so Jaci and I managed to get 8 extra tickets. We ended up inviting Finch and Katelyn and Bryce and Megan. Each ticket had a voucher for $8.50 that you could spend at the stadium. I couldn’t believe how much money Vivint put into this event!! The concert was AMAZING!! They did such a good job! I didn’t realize how much I know Imagine Dragons, because I knew like every song they played!

Saturday October 5th
Today was General Conference. We all went to mom and dad’s hotel to watch it. After, we went on a hike to Battle Creek Falls. It is a short but pretty hike. Last time Josh was up here for EFY, the boys had split the waterfall by putting rocks to guide it.  Now, it was just one big waterfall. Their structure was no longer there! We watched the next session of general conference and while the boys went to the priesthood sessions, Mom, Jaci, and I went and got our nails done. We happened to run into girls that we work with at Vivint! That night we stayed up until about midnight peeling peaches and making a dessert for tomorrow night.

Sunday October 6th

We went and watched the second session of General Conference at Laura and Gary’s house and ate Hawaiian haystacks. After the session was over, we went up to Snowbird and decided to figure out how to hike to an old mine. There was no trail so we were scaling up the side of this mountain! Dad could not stop taking pictures. He was blown away with how beautiful it was!! We ended up finding a trail that took us up to the mine. There was an old truck tipped over, but that was about it! We went back and had dessert. It was so Yummy! I need the recipe for that!
I had to text mom and figure it out! Here it is:

Friday October 11th
Jaci and I had to go to work for a little bit, but after, we all drove up to American Fork to go riding. Dallin was going to stay home and do homework, but last minute he decided how to make it work. Gary let me borrow Corbin's bike. It was so fun, but COLD! By the time we got back to load the bikes, my toes, fingers, and the rest of our bodies were frozen!! We dropped the bikes and other machines off at a random storage place in the middle of nowhere!! It seemed sketchy, but once we found it, we decided it was worth it.

Saturday October 12th
We woke up early to get ready to go riding! We met at the hotel and ate their yummy hot breakfast. We went and picked up the bikes and mom went and got a bunch of food for the ride. Laura and Corbin came and met up with us. We got everything unloaded and were off! We decided to take one of the trails off the path that was narrower and rockier. Dad had a dirt bike, which made it harder to go up the lose rock. He also had a bike that was not fit for the trails we were doing. He had more of a racing bike! As soon as he hopped onto Josh's Rapter, he was off and up a steep mountain in seconds. The fall colors were so gorgeous! We ended up taking our family pictures on our ride! Around lunch time, we decided we would rather ride than eat, so we were off again! We couldn't ride for too long, because we had to have the rented machines back at the place by 3! When we were turned around and heading back home, everybody was in front of Jaci, and apparently while she was turning around, she rolled her quad. Somehow, she was able to jump out of the way and miss it from rolling on her! We were all just so happy she was ok!! We loaded the bikes and headed home to get ready for the BYU Homecoming game! Dallin's parents and Corbin came too. It was a great game and we won :) We went to Macaroni Grill after with Dallin's family, Grandma, Deann, and Kade. It was so fun to see everybody and catch up!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow! It sure has been a busy month! Dallin and I are both taking 14 credit hours in school and he working 20 hours a week at the MTC and I am working 30 hours at Vivint. Every night consists of us doing homework, eating dinner and going to bed. We do take advantages of our weekends though!!

On the first weekend of the month, we went up to Salt Lake and did a live session at the temple! It was the first time I have been to that temple since we've been married. I love all the detail that is everywhere! It is beautiful! :) After, we used one of our gift cards we got from our wedding and went to Cheesecake Factory. They had gluten free pasta and cheesecake! I was in Heaven for sure! :) We also hiked up to Ensign Peak. It was absolutely gorgeous to be able to look out over the lit up Salt Lake Valley and try to imagine what it looked like when Brigham Young looked out over the Valley and what vision he saw. We stayed in Sandy at Dallin's parents and went to church with them on Sunday. I am starting to become a regular there with how much we go up there!! We were celebrating Bryce's birthday, so we had dinner at the park and went on a motorcycle ride with 4 other couples up Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was so beautiful and fun to be with so many other people, but it was also freezing! We went back to the house and made Hot Chocolate!

On the 21st, Dallin woke up bright and early and with riding with his bros while I went to work! I was quite jealous I couldn't go along, but I am glad he could have such a good time! Katelyn Finch and I wanted to surprise our husbands with a concert to see Allred, but we made the mistake of trying to go to the concert during the BYU vs Utah football game. We ended up telling them what we were going to do and they chose to watch the game instead! Boys will boys... :) We went to dinner at Los Hermanos and then walked over to where the concert was to sell our tickets. We ended up selling 3 out of the 4 so it worked out good!! We went to the Finch's house and made pizzookies/skookies (they have so many different names) and we watched the game. It was fun to be able to relax and spend time with our good friends. BYU lost unfortunately, but it was a close game!!

On Sunday, we had Jaci, Kiley, Toree, Jack, and Susan over for dinner. I made a tomato sauce pasta, rolls and zuccini. Jaci brought stuffed mushrooms and cake, and Jack and Susan brought a salad. It was so yummy! :) We went on a hike after to the first waterfall at Mt. Timp. All the leaves have started changing and it was gorgeous! We came back and had Jaci's homemade Lemon cake filled with whipped cream and lemon custard decorated with Flowers on top. She is seriously amazing! Some day I aspire to be as creative and talented as she is!

Dallin woke up deathly ill that next Monday. He was shaving and almost passed out. I came into the hallway and he was laying on the floor with his face as white as a ghost! I got him into bed and put a cold rag on his face. I called around to about 5 different people to try to get his shift covered at work. He was able to sleep until 11 and barely made it to school. Despite all my vitamins and trying to avoid getting his sickness, it was bound to happen. Now we have both been fighting it the past few days. I lost my voice and that was interesting trying to talk on the phone at work!! Dallin has been so sweet though. When I haven't felt well the past few days, he cleaned the apartment for me and would scratch my back until I fell asleep. He is such a good husband! No, he is the BEST husband! <3

A New Nephew

On September 9th, we added a new spirit to our lives. Beckham Howard Frandsen was born 7lbs and 12 oz. I feel so blessed to be an aunt to such a precious boy! Even though he is all the way in Boston, I can't wait to meet him! He was born a little blue, but is just the cutest!!
Porter was so cute. He wouldn't stop saying "I love you Beckham, I love you my baby! He is going to be the greatest big brother!

2 Weeks of Summer Fun

Dallin only had 2 weeks of summer, so we made the most out of it. We went on hikes like no body's business. We tried hiking Squaw Peak with Toree, but missed the turn off and went 2 hours in the opposite direction.
We went 4 Wheeling up in American Fork canyon with Gary and Laura and dropped down into somewhere (I can't remember where) and we ate dinner at a cute little restaurant. By the time we got back, it was past midnight!!
On one of our many Sunday adventures, we went to Jacis's apartment and made curry with Jack and Susan and drove up a mountain for 13 miles to hike Buffalo Peak! There was a fire down in the valley and it made the sky look gorgeous!!
Dallin makes me feel like the luckiest girl alive! How did I get so blessed to find the man better than the man of my dreams??

We hiked Mt. Timpanogos. We woke up bright and early and were on the trail by 6:30. There were some gorgeous waterfalls on the way up! The hike is 14 miles long and boy are those miles long! My hip started hurting me so bad (Thanks to gymnastics) that there were times when I had to pick up my leg to step up the hill. When we got to the lake that is about 2/3 of the way there, we stopped and ate our PB&J's and I don't think I have ever had a sandwich that tasted so good!! Timp is 12,000 feet in elevation and you climb 4,500 feet in the duration of the hike. It is the second tallest peak in the Wasatch Mountains It was completely worth it!! It was absolutely amazing to be able to look out over Utah Valley! It was also freezing cold at the top. And guess what? We had phone service!!

We went motorcycling at 5 mile pass with some of Dallin's friends. I can definitely say, I really started to fall in love with motorcycling. It was all I could think about for the next week. Dallin said that once we save up a certain amount of money, we can get me a dirt bike and on our finances excel worksheet, my dirt bike savings has its own separate column.
Dallin always takes such good care of me. Every single day when I would come home from work, he would surprise me with something whether it was a fresh flower on the table, a candle light dinner, repainting my car where I left some lovely scratches, having all the laundry washed and folded (and calling his mom for help, so he doesn't ruin the clothes), detailing my car, doing the dishes, washing my car, and the list goes on. He is always looking for ways to help me and I am so grateful for him! He makes me want to be better every day!!

We went Four Wheeling up Mineral Fork Canyon with Laura and Gary. It was a very bumpy ride might I add!! Dallin let me drive most of the way, so I guess I can consider myself lucky!

We hiked to Stewart Falls with Dal's family. They came down for dinner and of course, Laura was the one that brought the food!! She always manages to do everything for us! :)

I started my first day of school a week before Dallin did. We went to the Temple in the morning and did sealings. I almost passed out in the middle of the prayer and that was quite embarrassing. I had to sit down and leave after I could see again!! I met 2 sisters that Dallin teaches at the MTC. I wish so bad that I could shadow him at work one day to see what he does on a daily basis!

A few days after school started for me, we decided to finish our hike to Squaw Peak. I did not mentally prepare myself for how steep it was going to be and boy did I struggle. It didn't help that we had hiked Timp and Stewart Falls in less than a week before that. I was convinced I wasn't going to be able to make it to the top, but I had Dallin as my encouragement and by my side the entire time and boy was that view gorgeous as well. All the hikes we go on seem to be worth it once you get to the top!

We went to Lake Powell the weekend before Dal started school. I claim I have never been there before, but mom always reminds me that I have. I went when I was 2. I don't remember it, so I counted that as not going before. We went down in the Motor home and found a good place to camp on the beach. Dal and I got to set up our tent for the first time that mom and dad gave us for our wedding. The first night we were there, we had a massive storm. We woke up to our tent blowing vigorously. Dallin got up and left to secure the boat and everybody else. I didn't see him again for 20 minutes and was convinced he was a goner! I can't describe how happy I was to hear his voice and see his face again!! We went cliff jumping, got ice cream at the Marina at Halls Crossing, did tons of tubing, and went on an adventure through a canyon that started out wide and full of lake water and turned into black mud that went to our knees with spiders on the wall and it being about a foot and a half wide! We ate like kings and queens the entire trip. That is why you always bring your moms. They take care of you!! It was such a blast!!

Hello Blogging!

I have kept a pretty good journal up until before I got married. I just had so much to write my hand would have fallen off if I tried to scribe it all! I have decided to switch to blogging to help tell my life story! :)
