2 Weeks of Summer Fun

Dallin only had 2 weeks of summer, so we made the most out of it. We went on hikes like no body's business. We tried hiking Squaw Peak with Toree, but missed the turn off and went 2 hours in the opposite direction.
We went 4 Wheeling up in American Fork canyon with Gary and Laura and dropped down into somewhere (I can't remember where) and we ate dinner at a cute little restaurant. By the time we got back, it was past midnight!!
On one of our many Sunday adventures, we went to Jacis's apartment and made curry with Jack and Susan and drove up a mountain for 13 miles to hike Buffalo Peak! There was a fire down in the valley and it made the sky look gorgeous!!
Dallin makes me feel like the luckiest girl alive! How did I get so blessed to find the man better than the man of my dreams??

We hiked Mt. Timpanogos. We woke up bright and early and were on the trail by 6:30. There were some gorgeous waterfalls on the way up! The hike is 14 miles long and boy are those miles long! My hip started hurting me so bad (Thanks to gymnastics) that there were times when I had to pick up my leg to step up the hill. When we got to the lake that is about 2/3 of the way there, we stopped and ate our PB&J's and I don't think I have ever had a sandwich that tasted so good!! Timp is 12,000 feet in elevation and you climb 4,500 feet in the duration of the hike. It is the second tallest peak in the Wasatch Mountains It was completely worth it!! It was absolutely amazing to be able to look out over Utah Valley! It was also freezing cold at the top. And guess what? We had phone service!!

We went motorcycling at 5 mile pass with some of Dallin's friends. I can definitely say, I really started to fall in love with motorcycling. It was all I could think about for the next week. Dallin said that once we save up a certain amount of money, we can get me a dirt bike and on our finances excel worksheet, my dirt bike savings has its own separate column.
Dallin always takes such good care of me. Every single day when I would come home from work, he would surprise me with something whether it was a fresh flower on the table, a candle light dinner, repainting my car where I left some lovely scratches, having all the laundry washed and folded (and calling his mom for help, so he doesn't ruin the clothes), detailing my car, doing the dishes, washing my car, and the list goes on. He is always looking for ways to help me and I am so grateful for him! He makes me want to be better every day!!

We went Four Wheeling up Mineral Fork Canyon with Laura and Gary. It was a very bumpy ride might I add!! Dallin let me drive most of the way, so I guess I can consider myself lucky!

We hiked to Stewart Falls with Dal's family. They came down for dinner and of course, Laura was the one that brought the food!! She always manages to do everything for us! :)

I started my first day of school a week before Dallin did. We went to the Temple in the morning and did sealings. I almost passed out in the middle of the prayer and that was quite embarrassing. I had to sit down and leave after I could see again!! I met 2 sisters that Dallin teaches at the MTC. I wish so bad that I could shadow him at work one day to see what he does on a daily basis!

A few days after school started for me, we decided to finish our hike to Squaw Peak. I did not mentally prepare myself for how steep it was going to be and boy did I struggle. It didn't help that we had hiked Timp and Stewart Falls in less than a week before that. I was convinced I wasn't going to be able to make it to the top, but I had Dallin as my encouragement and by my side the entire time and boy was that view gorgeous as well. All the hikes we go on seem to be worth it once you get to the top!

We went to Lake Powell the weekend before Dal started school. I claim I have never been there before, but mom always reminds me that I have. I went when I was 2. I don't remember it, so I counted that as not going before. We went down in the Motor home and found a good place to camp on the beach. Dal and I got to set up our tent for the first time that mom and dad gave us for our wedding. The first night we were there, we had a massive storm. We woke up to our tent blowing vigorously. Dallin got up and left to secure the boat and everybody else. I didn't see him again for 20 minutes and was convinced he was a goner! I can't describe how happy I was to hear his voice and see his face again!! We went cliff jumping, got ice cream at the Marina at Halls Crossing, did tons of tubing, and went on an adventure through a canyon that started out wide and full of lake water and turned into black mud that went to our knees with spiders on the wall and it being about a foot and a half wide! We ate like kings and queens the entire trip. That is why you always bring your moms. They take care of you!! It was such a blast!!
